Add Warm Up Sample

Add Warm Up Sample

Introduction

In sensory testing, ensuring that panellists are familiar with the product or testing flow is crucial for obtaining reliable data. This is where a warm-up sample comes into play. A warm-up sample is a non-evaluative sample placed at the beginning of a testing session. Its primary purpose is to help panellists adjust to the product or testing process, often using time-intensity questions to guide their acclimatization.
By design, the warm-up sample is always fixed in the first position of the testing sequence, and no data is collected from it.

How to Add a Warm-Up Sample to the Design?

Step 1.

Go to the Design tab of your project and click Add warm-up sample button.

Step 2.

You can decide to add a warm-up sample to all the sessions or a specific session.

Based on the options chosen, the warm-up sample will be added to the first position of each set in your design.

In the product properties, you will see an extra product with number 0. Which means that no data will be collected for this product. You can customize the warm-up sample, for example name the product to use in placeholders.

Notes
To remove the warm up sample, simply regenerate the design.
AlertYou cannot collect any data for the warm up sample and this sample will not show in any of the exports available in EyeQuestion.
