EyeQuestion's Central Database (CDB) functionality is a powerful tool for store your data and run analysis on data coming from different project, but it requires configuration and careful use to get the most out of it.
Before enabling the Central Database, it's important to make sure that all assessor, sample, project, and attribute properties are properly configured to ensure that the CDB is capturing all necessary data. EyeQuestion's support team can assist with this process (
support@eyequestion.nl).
Once a project is completed, it needs to be set to a "finalized" status before it can be exported to the Central Database. This status is not reversible, so it's important to make sure that the project is truly complete before finalizing it. Finalized projects are easily identifiable with the icon next to the project name.
To export a finalized project to the Central Database, navigate to the Export menu and select "Export to Central Database." This will bring up a confirmation window with tabs for Products, Attributes, Assessors, and Results. If it's the first time a project is being exported, all products, attributes, and assessors will be marked with a red plus icon indicating that they will be created in the CDB. The next time a project with the same data is exported, the icon will be green.
When sending attributes to the CDB, EyeQuestion provides the option to save the attribute as something else if it's been misspelled or needs to be matched with an existing attribute in the CDB. However, it's important to note that all parameters need to match before this can be done.
You can access the CDB through the Tools menu, specifically by navigating to Data Tools and selecting Central Database. From there, you will be able to view all the projects to which you have sent data to the CDB. After sending the data, you can apply your own criteria to create filters and analyze the filtered dataset using EyeOpener, as well as export the data to Excel.
Please note: it depends on your license plan if it is possible for you to have CDB enabled. Feel free to ask us about the options.
