In product evaluation studies, maintaining a balanced and randomized sequence is crucial for ensuring fair and unbiased results. However, situations may arise where a product becomes unavailable—for instance, due to being out of stock or technical issues.
The Disable Products feature allows users to temporarily exclude specific products from evaluations without altering the established randomization sequence. This ensures data integrity while offering flexibility during the study setup and management phases.
When a product is disabled, it remains in the product list and retains its position in the randomized sequence but is excluded from all evaluations. This prevents panellists from seeing or assessing disabled products while ensuring the balance and randomization of active products are preserved.
Disabled products are visually marked throughout the workspace and exports, making it easy to identify them at a glance.
Each product in Design > Product now includes an Enable/Disable button.
The button displays a checkmark (✓) when the product is active.
When hovered, the icon changes to a cross (✗), indicating the option to disable it.
When a product is disabled, the icon displays a cross (✗), which switches to a checkmark (✓) on hover—allowing re-enabling.
Note: The enable/disable button is only active when the project is not deployed.
When disabling a product:
Navigate to Design > Product.
Click the Disable button next to the desired product.
A confirmation popup appears with the message:
“Warning: Disabling this product may compromise the balance of your design and affect the validity of the data analysis. Confirm only if you understand the impact.”
Choose Confirm to proceed or Cancel to abort.
Once confirmed:
The product is excluded from all evaluation sets (SET).
It is not shown to panellists during evaluations.
The randomized order of other active products remains unchanged.
Disabled products:
Appear greyed out or struck through in Product Info, Design Set, and Exports.
Are still visible in EyeOpenR Export, labelled as disabled.
Are included in Project Data Export API.
To re-enable a disabled product:
Ensure the project is in undeployed status.
Hover over the disable icon and click the checkmark (✓) to enable the product.
Re-enabling:
Restores the product to active status.
Keeps it in its original randomized position within the sequence.
Does not require confirmation.
When a design is re-generated:
All previously disabled products are automatically re-enabled.
The disable status is reset to default.
The disable/enable option is not available for:
