EyeOpenR Insight provides a suite of AI tools to enhance and accelerate your ability to analyse and understand your data. The tools currently available include:
Chatbot: with knowledge of EO Insights functionality the chatbot provides broad conversational support—answering questions about EO Insight, brainstorming ideas and extracting simple metrics from your dataset. The chatbot can also apply basic filters to your dataset and add widgets to your board.
Widget Generator: this tool can examine your entire dashboard or individual widgets and then add a widget to your board that contains insights generated by the AI Assistant and tailored to your goals (e.g. summaries, conclusions, suggested follow-up studies, etc)
Dashboard Generator: with knowledge of the full range of widgets available within EO Insight it first examines your data and then builds an EO Insight board best suited to any goal you wish to provide
All AI tools within EO Insight process the data using Amazon Bedrock inside EyeQuestion's own AWS account. Various warnings are placed throughout EO Insight to highlight this property of the tools. By turning on the chatbot, clicking the ‘Generate AI Widget’ or clicking the ‘Generate AI Dashboard’ buttons we understand that you accept both your data and prompts will be open to this process. Crucially, the information shared will NOT be used to train or improve models.
The AI tools available in EO Insight use LLMs to understand your commands, interpret your data, reason about their tasks and generate their output. Errors or hallucinations can occur within any of these processes and therefore output from the AI Assistance should be treated with caution and an awareness that the output may contain inaccuracies. Therefore please ensure you verify any critical information generated by such tools.
EyeOpenR Insight will track the tokens you use when you use the AI functionality. You can monitor your AI usage within the progress bar displayed at the top of the AI Assistance sidebar. Credits will be reset at the start of each month. To adjust your credits please contact support@eyequestion.nl.
The AI Chatbot has knowledge of EO Insights functionality and the various analysis methods implemented. It also, when active, has knowledge of your original dataset and knowledge of which widgets are already on your board. Its purpose is to provide broad conversational support, answering questions about EO Insight, brainstorming ideas, extracting simple metrics from your dataset, adding widgets to your board or applying basic filters.
IMPORTANT: If you turn OFF the chat bot any filters you have applied will be removed and the dataset will be returned to its original full form.
Step 1: Click the ‘AI Assistance’ icon in the EO Insight sidebar to reveal the AI Assistance sidebar
Step 2: In the AI Chatbots panel, turn on the chatbot by toggling the switch to ON
Step 3: Enter your prompt/question in the box provided, then press enter/return on your keyboard or click the submit button to begin your conversation with the chatbot
This powerful tool generates a new widget and adds this to your board containing insights the AI Assistant formulated after examining your data and results. The tool has knowledge of the EO Insight analysis methods and when activated access to the results available on the board you have constructed (determined by your choice of AI Widget Generator options detailed below) plus the currently active dataset (i.e. incl. filters and/or groups).
The tool can operate in two alternative modes:
Initial Impression: Offers a fast but shallow exploration of your board. In this mode the tool only has access to the information currently visible on your board and the active dataset (this can be supplemented with additional information in the prompt or by activating the ‘Preliminary Analysis’ function detailed below). As this mode can only access the information currently available, please ensure you carefully select the widget tabs on display before this tool is activated.
Deep Dive: Provides a slower but deeper exploration of your board or an individual widget. In this mode you have the additional option for the AI tool to focus on only a single widget or the entire board. In this mode the tool receives the same information as described in the ‘Initial Impression’ but is also able to access any of the results from any of the widgets within its ‘focus’ (i.e. if ‘Full Board’ is set as the ‘focus’ then all results from all widgets are accessible, if a single widget is provided as the ‘focus’ then results only from this widget are accessible to the tool).
NOTE: In both modes the AI Assistant is only able to view charts currently visible on your board and can’t view 3D plots. If you wish the assistant to see a specific chart, please ensure the tab is displayed when clicking ‘Generate AI Widget’.
You can choose to supplement the information available to the widget generator by activating the ‘additional preliminary analysis’ option. When active this provides the tool with an additional preliminary analysis of your data in the form of the output from the NaileR widget with default parameters selected (see NaileR section of ‘General Purpose Widgets’ Knowledge Base article for more information).
You can determine the nature of the insight the tool is tasked to generate and tailor it to your goals via the ‘widget type’ and ‘prompt’ settings. There are currently four ‘widget types’ available:
Conclusions: The AI tool is tasked with providing insightful conclusions based on your prompt and board/widget
Summary: The AI tool is tasked with providing a summary of your board/widget in the context of any prompt your provide
Follow-up: The AI tool tasked with providing suggestions for a follow-up study based on the content of the current board/widget and any additional prompt you provide
Other: The task of the AI tool is primarily defined by the prompt you provide (as with other widget type settings it has access to the above information)
Step 1: Click the ‘AI Assistance’ icon in the EO Insight sidebar to reveal the ‘AI Assistance sidebar’
Step 2: Click the ‘AI Widgets’ title in the ‘AI Assistance sidebar’ to reveal the ‘AI Widgets’ options
Step 3: Select the Depth of examination the AI tool should perform
Step 4: Select the ‘Widget Type’ it should generate/task it should perform
Step 5: Select the word length (approximate word count of the response it provides in the new ‘AI Widget’ it adds to your board)
Step 6 (Deep Dive Only): Select whether the tool should examine the ‘Full Board’ or only output from a specific widget before generating its response
Step 7: Determine whether the tool is provided additional preliminary analysis to inform its response
Step 8: Provide any additional information or task direction in the ‘Additional Prompt’ field. Any additional information about your study or goals can greatly enhance the value of the insights the tool generates e.g. provide a brief description of your project/study and how you may want the AI assistant to use information on your board to assist you in a given goal.
Step 9: Click ‘Generate AI Widget’. The tool may then take some time to examine and reason about your data before adding its response as a new widget at the bottom of your board.
The AI Dashboard Generator is a valuable tool, especially to those new to EO Insight, for rapidly generating a dashboard tailored to your data and goals. This AI tool has knowledge of the full range of widgets and analysis methods available within EO Insight. When activated it also has access to your dataset and therefore knowledge of properties crucial to selecting the appropriate widgets/analysis methods (e.g. datatypes). You also have the option to provide supplementary information about the goal of the board you wish to generate (e.g. the audience, messages the board must communicate, etc) and contextual information about your study and the dataset accessible to the tool. When triggered the tool will integrate all of this information and use it to motivate selection of an optimised set of widgets that it will then add to your board. The tool provides feedback explaining which widgets were selected and why.
IMPORTANT:
The AI Dashboard Generator will have access to your full ‘original’ dataset (excl. Filters & Groups) and reason based on the entire dataset unless specified in the ‘Board Goal’
All widgets are initialised with default settings, therefore you will likely need to adjust widget properties, filters and/or groups to optimise the final board for your purpose (adjusting widget properties, filters and groups may be added to the AI Dashboard Generator’s abilities in later versions of EO Insight).
Additional widgets can also be added following the initial creation of the board by the AI Dashboard Generator.
Widgets are initialised with the full dataset unless ‘Global’ filters are applied. Therefore, for large boards or datasets we recommend applying filters before adding widgets to your board, then adjusting ‘Widget’ level filters once widgets are added. For more information on how to adjust ‘Global’ and ‘Widget’ level filters please see corresponding Knowledge Base articles.
When starting a new session & uploading your data you will be presented with the option to use the AI Dashboard Generator:
If you have a fresh board you can also access the AI Dashboard Generator as follows:
Step 1: Click the ‘AI Assistance’ icon in the EO Insight sidebar to reveal the ‘AI Assistance sidebar’
Step 2: Click the ‘AI Dashboard Generator’ title in the ‘AI Assistance sidebar’ to reveal the ‘AI Dashboard Generator’ options
Step 3: Provide a description of the goal of the board you creating plus any additional context regarding your project/study and data that may be useful in determining the optimal widget set
Step 4: Determine the number of widgets (max. 8) that should be selected and added to the board by the ‘AI Dashboard Generator’
Step 5: Click ‘Generate AI Board’. The AI tool will then examine your dataset in addition to any additional information you have provided before reasoning about the most appropriate set of widgets, once it has decided on its interpretation of the optimal set it will begin building your board and provide you with feedback on which widgets were selected and why.
