How to make your questionniare multilanguage?

If you want to create a questionnaire where participants can choose between different languages you can make use of the Multilingual setting. Thanks to this setting you can create a questionnaire with different languages, without the need to create multiple questionnaires.

Step 1.
To make a question multilingual go first to the Settings page. In the Project Settings page enable the Multilingual setting.

Step 2.
Now can go on your project and you need to enter all translations for the text elements and answer options. When editing a question you can switch to different languages to edit for a specific language. Switching to a different language is done by selecting the language in the list on the right-hand side (see the image).

Default refers to the default language: the version which is shown when it is not a multilingual test or when the language of the panelist is not available.
You can set up the default language in the Project settings. After switching from Default to a certain language, the appropriate flag will appear. If in your case the default language is Norwegian (see example), you won't need to additionally translate it in the Norwegian questionnaire. In the "Default" version of the questionnaire, you can write your questions in the Norwegian language. You will only need to translate it into the English questionnaire.

All settings marked with a flag have to be set for this specific language.  In case of a Linescale, you can also set language specific anchors. When using a category question for example, the items need to be adjusted.
When a language is selected the screen and overall preview will use the selected language when presenting the questions.

Panelists can select their language in two ways:

1. They can select the desired language before they log in by clicking on the appropriate flag.

2. Alternatively, they can choose the language in which they one to conduct the test at the very beginning of the questionnaire.
Step 1.
First, you need to add a one-choice question.

Step 2.
Set your question name to " !language" (1) and name and value the attributed to suit your needs as seen in the picture below.
For naming the value click on the locker icon (2).
