How to Monitor the Activity of your EyeQuestion Environment

EyeQuestion allows a User Manager monitor how an environment is being used, directly from the Administration area. Two tools work together for this:

• System Monitor > Metrics shows the Monthly Active Users (MAU) count and the responses collected, per environment and per site.
• Authentication History shows exactly which users logged in during a chosen time frame, with export options.

This article explains how to read both overviews and how the MAU figure is calculated.

Terminology: an environment is your full EyeQuestion instance (your login URL). A site is a subdivision within that environment. Figures are shown per site, so you switch site to see each one, and you log in to a different environment to see that environment's figures.

How to see the number of MAUs and responses per environment and site

Metrics visualization through Administration > System Monitor.

Step 1. Log in to the environment you want to check, then go to Administration > System Monitor > Metrics.

Step 2. Read the Monthly Active Users graph. The site name is shown between the "Monthly Active Users" title and the graph, so you always know which site the figures belong to.

Step 3. Just lower on the same Metrics page, you can also visualize the responses collected in that site over the period. Read them the same way, per site.

To see this information about a different site, you must first switch sites and repeat Steps 2 and 3. 

How to see which users have logged in in a given time frame

Analysis through Administration > Authentication History

Step 1. Go to Administration > Authentication History.

You will see an overview of everyone who logged in to the current site, each listed with their unique Login name (identifier). 

To identify to whom the login code belongs, copy and paste it into the search box in the Manage Users overview. The Login code is a unique identifier linked to the user account.

Step 2. Enter the time frame you want to review.

Step 3. Set the Remove Duplicates toggle:

• ON: one row per user, giving you the list of unique users active in that time frame.
• OFF: every login is listed, so you can see how many times each individual logged in.

Step 4. Export if needed. Both the unique view and the full view can be exported.

The MAU count is based on unique logins of users within the month. Panelist accounts are not counted.

Access: the overviews listed in this article are available to the users with User Manager profile.
