Introduction
In the following article we outline the possibility for panellists to review and modify, if necessary, their answers before submitting the questionnaire. This ensures that the answers they provide truly reflect their views and are as accurate as possible. This article also outlines how to effectively enable panellists to view their comments/results, ensuring a more engaging and thoughtful follow-up conversation.
Displaying Panellists' Previous Answers
There might be cases when we want to allow a panellist to review their answer after responding to a product, enabling them to see what they submitted and potentially make changes. In the example below, panellists can type a comment about a product and then review their input for any typos before proceeding to evaluate the next sample.
Step 1:
Create a new screen in the Design Questions section of your questionnaire and add the question type "Remark/Comment", and make sure you give it a unique name. This is where you need to instruct the panellists to fill in a comment regarding the product they evaluated.
Step 2:
Create another screen containing a "General Instruction" question type and make sure to place it at the end of the Design Questions section of your questionnaire or right after the screen which includes the Comment question. On this Feedback screen you will have to add the placeholders that will show the panelists their previous answer.
In the example above, the first placeholder used ($$code:product$$) will display the product reviewed, while the second one ($$answer:questionname$$) shows the answer they gave.
Enabling Panelists to Review and Modify Their Answers
If you want your panellists to have the option to go back and modify their previous answers, you must select "Yes" in the "Allow Back" option of the screen edit.
It is
important to know that once they click "Next" the panelists will no longer have the option to go back.
Showing Panellists Their Answers
There might be instances where you want panellists to review their own answers after completing a questionnaire.
Step 1:
Create a new screen in the
End section of your questionnaire and add a "General instruction" type of question.
Step 2:
In here you must insert the placeholders as following:
- to display the product to be reviewed use "code:product_1" in the placeholders pop-up. Change the product number each time you want to display and review another product;
- to display the answers use "answer_product_1:questionname" where you will replace the part marked in bold with the unique name you gave to your questions.
The panelists will then visualize their answer as following:
