Overview

From EyeQuestion 6.3.7, panellists can request deletion of their own account directly from the panellist portal. They no longer need to contact the organisation running the panel and wait for a panel manager to act.

The request takes under a minute. The panel manager is notified by email straight away, and the account is either deleted automatically or reviewed by the panel manager first, depending on how the organisation has configured EyeQuestion.

This option is available to panellists using the New Portal. 

How to request account deletion

1. Log in to the panellist portal.
2. Go to Account Settings.
3. Select Delete Account.
4. In the confirmation popup, tell us why you are leaving. This helps the panel team improve the panel.
5. Confirm the request.

Your request is now submitted. You do not need to do anything else.

What happens next

• Your account is locked. You can no longer log in to the portal once the request is confirmed.
• The panel manager is informed. They receive an email with your login, first name, last name and the reason you gave.
• Your account is deleted. Depending on your organisation's setup, this happens automatically through a scheduled process, or after the panel manager reviews the request.

Deletion removes your panellist profile from every site in the EyeQuestion environment.

For Panel Managers

You stay in control of when accounts are actually removed, so you can settle rewards, finish running projects and keep what you need for year-end reporting before data is gone.

• Notification: an email arrives as soon as a panellist confirms a request, with their login, name and reason. The email will be sent to all panel managers at the site the panellist belongs to. If delivery fails, EyeQuestion retries once and logs the error. 
• Finding requests: in Panellist Management, the Deletion Requested column shows an icon for every panellist who has asked to be deleted.
• Cancelling a request: unlock the panellist. This clears the deletion request.
  

By default, the panel manager stays in charge of deleting panellists. If you prefer, you can request automatic deletion instead by sending an email to support@eyequestion.nl. Panellists who ask to be deleted are then removed within 72 hours without any manual action from the panel manager. Before switching to automatic deletion, make sure all outstanding rewards are paid out.
